Our recent semiar in Nottingham discussed 3 key ways to start getting your site noticed more on the engines.
We started by discussing keyword research and how important it is to make sure you find the top searched word in your market AND that they are being clicked on.
One way to do this is to use the google external keyword tool to narrow down to a list to perhaps 10 or 12 terms.
Then put this list in to a pay per click campaign and see which ones actually deliver clicks to your site.
This is the word you would then start an organic campaign on.

This video shows a demonstration of the power of google analytics. It is very simple to set up. All you need as a free google account. You then get a small snippet of code to add to your web pages. Very easy
After it is all set up, you go in and select analytics when you want to take a look at what's been happening at your site.
We take you through the date set up so you can control the time span you want to look at.We show you how to look at all the sources of your traffic including each search engines separately.
Finally we show you the keywords that people are finding you with on google. The video runs for less than 4 minutes and is well worth watching if you are not yet using analytics.
